The Assessor's Office is responsible for assigning all physical addresses in St. Clair County.  They maintain ownership maps, records, valuations,etc.  The Assessor and /or field staff conducts a yearly field review of property to keep buldings and values current.  A real estate impact notice is mailed each year for new construction.  Informal hearings are also held to defend the values.  The values assessed are forwarded to the Collector's Office for tax collection.
